[Quy Nhon Beach Series #2] Quy Nhon Central Beach: The Golden Afternoon Vibe

The Golden Afternoon Vibe

The afternoon here is all about the blazing sun, golden crescent sands, and deep blue waves. As you hit the beach entrance, the city’s symbolic monuments and laid-back beach bars instantly catch your eye, setting the perfect tropical mood.

The beach is completely deserted during the peak afternoon hours. This is not only because of the intense heat, but also because locals rarely venture out in the middle of the day. Plus, unlike places like Da Nang, Quy Nhon isn’t packed with crowds of international tourists yet.
However, Quy Nhon is famous for being much windier than other coastal cities in Vietnam. As long as you stay under the shade, the breeze keeps it cooler than you’d expect, even if it doesn’t completely beat the tropical heat.

There are some beach bars and cafes near the shore, so it’s great to grab a shaded spot, sip on some local coffee or fresh fruit juice, and enjoy the empty ocean view. Unlike Da Nang’s My Khe Beach, which is always bustling with crowds, Quy Nhon offers a rare sense of true peace and tranquility.

Stepping a bit closer to the ocean under the blazing midday sun, you can truly feel it. Quy Nhon’s sea has a unique vibe and emotion that belongs entirely to this place.

But honestly, let’s hold off on getting too emotional in the afternoon. Health comes before vibes, after all. Just dip your feet in the water for a moment and run for your life to Starbucks. If you’re a traveler who handles the heat like a pro, the nearby beach bars are a solid option. But if you’re weak against the heat, the ocean view from the air-conditioned Starbucks is absolutely stellar.

Xuan Dieu Street is the main coastal road that runs along Quy Nhon Beach. It’s one of the busiest streets in the city, lined with hotels and restaurants, and it even hosts lively street performances in the evening. Starbucks sits right in the middle of this strip. Heading up to the second floor to sip your coffee while looking out at the ocean is a great option.

As I wrap up this post staring out at the peaceful and relaxing sea of Quy Nhon, I’ll catch you guys in the next one where we’ll explore the vibrant evening vibe of this beautiful beach.
